Ask any seller for a lab report against the FCO limits before comparing quality claims. Appearance alone cannot confirm nutrient content or heavy-metal levels.

Check moisture and particle size: ask for the measured moisture percentage and whether the material has been sieved. Inspect a sample for visible plastic, glass or other foreign matter, and ask the seller how these are removed.
